We always love to hear about the experiences of our volunteers when they serve our community, so take a to read what Melanie Warren has to say about her recent experience at Little Mustard Seed and Northside Elementary...
"I had the opportunity to attend two CityReach ministry events this month. The first was held at the Little Mustard Seed in downtown PC. City Church partnered with members of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. It was so good to meet and work with other mission-minded believers. The group I was in made goodie bags for the children of the ladies served by Lavished Ministries. We had a great time getting to know one another! It was amusing to watch the men n our group learn how to tie bows on the goodie bags, LOL!
The second CityReach event I attended was at Northside Elementary, one of City Church’s partners. I worked with the school’s Media Specialist on the greeting team, posted at the entrance to the building. Our job was to welcome the kids and parents attending orientation. It gave me a lot of joy as we shouted hello, waved and welcomed them into the building…and there was also a little dancing involved! It felt good to join with the kids and parents in the excitement of a new school year and to bolster the kids who seemed a little uneasy."
